Yolo County Weed Management Area Spring 2023 Meeting: March 30th
The Yolo County Weed Management Area (YCWMA) promotes and coordinates efforts toward the management and control of the County’s noxious weeds through education and cooperation with landowners, agencies, organizations, and the general public. The group is led by the Yolo County Department of Agriculture and the Yolo County Resource Conservation District (Yolo RCD).
The YCWMA hosts biannual informational meetings that feature insights from UC Cooperative Extension and other experts in weed management. The meetings serve as an avenue for participants to network, ask questions, and learn about relevant Yolo County target weeds and their management. The next YCWMA meeting will take place IN PERSON on March 30, 2023 from 2:00-3:35 PM at Norton Hall (70 Cottonwood Street) in Woodland.
The meeting will feature speakers from the Department of Water Resources, Solano RCD, UC Davis Putah Creek Riparian Reserve, and Yolo County RCD. Topics include: Managing Phragmites in tidal restoration sites, Successful Broadleaf Weed Control in Habitat Restoration Projects, When to use Transline vs Milestone for Best Results in Restoration Projects, and Top EDRR Weeds in the YCWMA.
