Announcing our Mobile Irrigation Lab Program: Job Opportunity

Yolo County RCD is excited to announce that we have been awarded funding from California Department of Food and Agriculture Water Efficiency Technical Assistance for the Sutter-Yolo Mobile Irrigation Lab. Yolo County RCD, in partnership with Sutter County RCD, will provide a Mobile Irrigation Lab that will expand pump and irrigation evaluation services to many more growers in Yolo, Sutter, Yuba, and Colusa counties. The Mobile Irrigation Lab will provide multilingual technical assistance to serve socially-disadvantaged farmers and ranchers throughout the region.

Yolo County RCD is looking for a community oriented, bilingual person to join our crew as the Mobile Irrigation Lab Manager. We seek a natural resource or agricultural professional to develop and run a 3-year Mobile Irrigation Lab Program that will provide technical assistance on irrigation efficiency and other on-farm conservation issues. The ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills and the patience to work with people with different perspectives, priorities, and temperaments with the goal of conservation and technical training. The Mobile Irrigation Lab Manager will assist English and Spanish speaking growers by improving irrigation practices, providing education on efficient irrigation system management, and introducing growers to new soil health technologies and BMPs.

The salary range for this position is $58,245-$79,425 with benefits including health, dental, vision, and deferred compensation plan with employer match.
