Profiles in Yolo County Conservation
The Yolo County Resource Conservation District (YCRCD) has partnered with local farmers & ranchers for over 50 years. Our goals are to support & assist in the implementation of conservation activities that maintain & improve agricultural sustainability, wildlife habitat and water quality. Over the past decade, the YCRCD has been involved with numerous grant-funded projects that have focused on building & refining our knowledge of “on-farm practices” that are both cost-effective for farmers, and guided by ecologically sound principles.
Past projects have documented significant improvements in soil & water quality, and species diversity, as a direct result of these practices. Our partnerships with local growers & landowners have been crucial to these efforts.
